GENERAL INFORMATION

At the foot of Africa lies the Cape. Sandy shores, mountain peaks, wildlife parks, forests and dunes permeate this area of natural beauty. The Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate with wonderful warm, dry, summer days, and cool, damp winters. The Garden Route is more temperate and days are mostly very pleasant. Johannesburg and Pretoria are important gold mining, political, cultural and commercial centres and the ideal springboard for tours to Sun City and the Kruger National Park. Johannesburg experiences hot summers with occasional thundershowers and although the winter nights are frosty, the winter days are often glorious. The Kruger National enjoys hot summers with cool winter nights. Kwa Zulu Natal has a mainly sub tropical climate, the coast is always warm, summer and winter, with the area north of Durban experiencing high humidity in summer. Traditional Zulu kraals, beautiful beaches, magnificent game reserves, majestic mountain scenery, added to a history filled with romance and adventure, go together to make up Kwa Zulu Natal.
