Town to Port Elizabeth (JK01)
Richly endowed by nature, the Garden Route abounds with
unspoiled scenic attractions. A rugged coastline with towering cliffs,
golden beaches, magnificent indigenous forests, quiet lakes and an abundance
of indigenous floral species with rare protected plants growing beside
streams and waterfalls.
DAY ONE (Friday) Cape Town to Mossel
Bay
Depart from Cape Town and travel via the spectacular
coastal route of False Bay to Hermanus. Continue via the historic town
of Swellendam and then on to Mossel Bay which boasts South Africa's first
post office, the famous Post Office Tree.
DAY TWO (Saturday) Mossel Bay to
Prince Albert
Travel over the Robinson Pass to Oudtshoorn, ostrich
capital of the world. Visit the Crocodile Ranch and Cheetahland and the
Cango Caves. Then it's off to the quaint town of Prince Albert over the
spectacular Swartberg Pass (weather permitting). (Overnight PRINCE
ALBERT)
DAY THREE (Sunday) Prince Albert
to Knysna
Return through the Meiringspoort George to Oudtshoorn,
enjoy lunch at an ostrich farm. Travel via the Outeniqua Pass to George
and through the Wilderness Lake District to Knysna (Overnight KNYSNA)
DAY FOUR (Monday) Knysna to Port
Elizabeth
Opportunity to explore this quaint holiday town with
it's arts and crafts shops by yourself. Travel via Plettenberg Bay, indigenous
forests and the Old Passes Road to the Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park.
This is the only coastal national park in South Africa. Continue to the
harbour city of Port Elizabeth for a short city tour. Transfer to the airport
or hotel.
